RSRCH Privacy Policy

RSRCH is operated by In Aim Technologies Corporation. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the RSRCH app.
Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we process:
Account information, such as your name, email address, sign-in information, and account identifier.
Profile information you provide, including your photograph, institution or organization, location, professional background, and interests.
Saved opportunities, preferences, goals, collaboration activity, invitations, and messages.
Notification preferences and device push-notification tokens.
Subscription information, including purchase status, product identifiers, and subscription entitlements.
Information you provide when contacting support.
Our hosting and service providers may also process technical information, such as IP addresses, connection information, and diagnostic logs.
How we use information
We use information to operate your account, personalize funding and news recommendations, match potential collaborators, provide messaging and notifications, manage subscriptions, respond to support requests, and maintain service security.
Information visible to other users
Profile information made available through RSRCH’s networking features may be visible to other users. Messages, invitations, and shared collaboration information are accessible to the people participating in those interactions. Avoid including confidential information in your public profile or shared content.
Service providers
We use service providers to support app functionality, including:
Render for backend hosting and database services.
Resend for account-recovery emails.
Apple and Google for supported sign-in and app-store purchases.
RevenueCat to manage subscription status and access to paid features.
Expo and platform notification services to deliver push notifications.
OpenAI to support personalized news and opportunity discovery.
For personalized news, RSRCH sends research interests and liked-opportunity information to OpenAI to identify relevant articles.
Providers process information according to their roles and applicable terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users, prevent misuse, or address security incidents.
Photos, camera, calendars, and notifications
RSRCH requests permissions for features you choose to use, such as selecting or taking a profile picture, saving events to a calendar, and receiving notifications. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.
Events saved to an external calendar are also governed by that calendar provider’s practices.
Subscriptions
Apple or Google handles payment processing for purchases through its store. RSRCH and RevenueCat use subscription and transaction information to determine access to paid features.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account information while needed to provide the service. You can request account deletion through the app or by contacting support.
Deletion removes your account and associated records from the active RSRCH database, including linked profile, interests, saved-opportunity, messaging, and collaboration records.
Data retention after account deletion
After your account is deleted, we remove your account and associated personal information from our active database. Limited information may remain temporarily as follows:
Backup copies: Residual copies may remain in restricted-access backups for up to 30 days after deletion from the active database. Backups are maintained for disaster recovery and are not used for routine access or personalization. If a backup is restored, we reapply completed deletion requests before returning the restored data to normal use.
Security and diagnostic logs: Routine logs are retained for no longer than 90 days from creation to troubleshoot errors, protect the service, and detect misuse. Logs may include technical identifiers such as IP addresses and account identifiers.
Deletion-request records: We retain a minimal record of your request and its completion for up to 12 months after completion to document that we honored it. This record is limited to the identifier needed to track the request, relevant dates, and the outcome; it does not include your profile content or messages.
Safety reports and moderation records: To investigate abuse, review appeals, and document enforcement of our Community Rules, we may retain safety reports and their supporting evidence, including reported messages or profile content, after account deletion. Reports and evidence are retained until 90 days after resolution or 180 days after submission, whichever occurs first. Unresolved reports are retained for up to 180 days after submission. Moderation audit records are retained for up to 365 days from creation. Deletion occurs during the next successful scheduled cleanup. Access to these records is restricted to authorized personnel.
Legal exceptions: Specific records may be retained longer when required by law or necessary for an active legal claim or security investigation. Access is restricted, and those records are deleted when the applicable requirement or need ends.
Apple, Google, and other providers may retain records they independently control, such as purchase records, under their own privacy policies and legal obligations. Copies previously exported or saved by other users and events added to external calendars are not automatically removed by deleting your RSRCH account.
Copies previously exported or saved by other users, and events saved to external calendars, may remain outside RSRCH. App stores and other providers may retain their own records under their policies.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and preferences, manage device permissions, and request account deletion. Contact us to request access to or correction of your information, or to exercise applicable privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity.
Security
We use safeguards designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

RSRCH links to funding opportunities, articles, and other external websites. Those services have their own privacy practices.
Changes
We may update this policy as our services or practices change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
